Martina Smazal
Bio
Martina Smazal moved to Edmonton in 2012 from BC, where she served as Principal Viola of the Vancover Opera, BC Ballet, Canada West Chamber Orchestra, the Strauss Symphony, as well as the Okanagan, Abbotsford and Vancouver Island Symphonies. She had the privilege of performing at the 2010 Olympics, the Canadian Country Music Awards, CBC Radio, and in movies and TV shows. Since moving to Edmonton with her husband, she plays with the ESO, Opera Nuova and at the Citadel Theatre. After obtaining 2 music degrees in the 90s, Martina found a passion for teaching strings and also adjudicates at music festivals around the province.
