Philip Manning, violin
Violinist Philip Manning has had his playing described as ‘virtuosic’, ‘captivating’ and ‘versatile’. His extensive experience of orchestral, chamber and solo playing has led to performances across Canada and the United States, from small chamber venues to large concert halls and outdoor audiences of 45,000. Philip has won numerous awards and scholarships for his solo and chamber performances and as the recipient of a full scholarship, he completed a Graduate Level Artist Diploma in Violin Performance at Duquesne University under Professor Charles Stegeman in 2016. He was a finalist in the Canada Council of the Arts Instrument Bank Competition and is a returning member of the annual Sunflower Music Festival in Kansas. Philip is now pleased to be a full time core member of the Victoria Symphony, and is looking forward to performing extensively on the West Coast.
